3rd Annual Small Biz Expo

In light of October’s recognition of Small Business Month, The WindsorEssex Small Business Centre (SBC) hosted the “3rd Annual Small Biz Expo” in order to celebrate these outstanding small businesses.

On October 18 from 5-9p.m. at 2175 Parent Avenue, Giovanni Caboto Club in Windsor, welcomed over 500 guests to the expo at no cost for admission.

With over 75 small businesses in attendance at last night’s expo, this was an opportunity for businesses to sell their services and products directly and connect with Windsor-Essex residents on a comfortable level.

A complete list of vendors is mentioned in the document below.

This year’s Small Biz Expo exceeded our expectations and demonstrates the public’s desire to shop local and support small businesses,” says Sabrina DeMarco, Executive Director of the WindsorEssex Small Business Centre. “It’s nice to know we are able to foster the public exposure and environment that our local entrepreneurs need to succeed with this year’s Small Biz Expo.”

Vendors ranged from food and drink, beauty and wellness, artisans and B2B lounges. This one-stop shop event gave residents a free inside view of what the local businesses have to offer and network and learn more about local businesses.

With live demonstrations by Windsor Circus School and Chaykit Bellydance and Fitness, those in attendance were able to not only watch but learn from professionals and have a taste of their product in a learning environment.

Since 1992, the SBC has provided thousands with training and the basic essentials they need in order to succeed in the business world. From starting up a business to developing skills, the SBC also provides workshops and programs to help aid those in need of more assistance with their business.

According to Statistics Canada, (Canadian Business Patterns, June 2017) there are over 28,925 businesses operating in Windsor- Essex that create jobs,” says Stephen MacKenzie, CEO of the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation. “Small business is truly the back-bone of the economy in our Region and we need to celebrate and recognize entrepreneurs at every opportunity.”
