These Games honour the rich Scottish traditions and Celtic heritage of Southern Ontario. As the only Highland Games in the Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent regions, this beloved festival blends 11th-century customs with modern community revelry.  From world class pipe bands to the thunder of heavy athletics to the raw grit of tug of war to the grace of Highland dance and immersive cultural showcases, the Games ignite a vibrant celebration of clan and kin for all ages.

Full day of Competitions and Activities including…

PIPING & DRUMMING: Grade 5 to Grade 3 solo bagpipers and solo drummers in addition to Grade 5 to Grade 3 Pipe Bands from Ontario and beyond.
HEAVY EVENTS: Male and female athletes competing in tests of strength. Implements include Hammer Throw, Sheaf Toss, Stone Throw, and Caber Toss
TUG OF WAR: Teams dig in for battles of strength and grit
HIGHLAND DANCING: Dancers perform traditional Scottish solo dances and are judged on technique, timing, strength and presentation
HAGGIS HURL: Area mayors compete for title of Chief Haggis Hurler
CLAN VILLAGE: Exhibiting information about family history and helping guests find information about their ancestry
JACOBITE ENCAMPMENT: Experience the rugged life of highlanders
SHEEP SHEARING & HERDING: Demonstrations of intelligence and skill required to work the land
ARTISANS & MERCHANTS: Shop local goods from across the region
FOOD CONCESSIONS & BEER TENT:  Savour hearty fare & festival favorites

Canada Day Arts Fair

Celebrate creativity, community, and Canadian pride at the Canada Day Arts Fair, returning to Downtown Windsor for its third annual celebration on July 1st. Taking place along University Avenue between Pelissier Street and Freedom Way from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the event serves as a sister celebration to the annual Canada Day Parade, offering attendees an opportunity to continue the festivities in the heart of Downtown Windsor.

Conveniently located at the University Avenue intersection of the parade route, the Canada Day Arts Fair creates a lively destination for parade-goers, families, residents, and visitors to gather and celebrate long after the parade concludes.

Hosted by the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA), the event will feature more than 25 vendors showcasing a diverse selection of handmade goods, original artwork, crafts, and locally created products, providing attendees with the opportunity to support Windsor-Essex artists and makers while enjoying a festive atmosphere. In addition to shopping local, guests can enjoy a full lineup of family-friendly entertainment and interactive activities throughout the event.

Performances by stilt walkers, live music from Paul Beresford, and energetic sets by DJ Evolution will help create a vibrant and welcoming celebration of Canada Day in Downtown Windsor. Families and children can also enjoy complimentary hands-on arts and crafts workshops, spin art experiences, and face painting, making the event an engaging experience for attendees of all ages.

Patriotic giveaways, including Canada Day flags, pins, and temporary tattoos, will also be available while supplies last. Whether stopping by after the parade, shopping local vendors, enjoying live entertainment, or participating in family activities, the Canada Day Arts Fair offers an extended Canada Day experience that celebrates local creativity, community spirit, and Canadian pride.

Christian Vegh Band at Dock and Vine on Canada Day

The Christian Vegh (Band ) will be performing a free concert July 1st at 5pm at Dock & Vine on the Patio, reserve your seats now and bring your family and friends!
The Windsor Federation of Musicians, Canadian Federation of Musicians and American Federation of Musicians are sponsoring this community event. Christian Vegh (Indie Artist Singer, Songwriter, Producer, and Guitarist) has been referred to as a “young guitar prodigy with an old soul” the “type of young artist that will shape music for the next 50 years” and the “hottest young guitar player in the nation”.

Vegh tours with The Christian Vegh Band, Slight Return USA, Meresha (Billboard Pop Star), and Dame Dash’s BluRoc Tour.

This artist has shared the stage with Ted Nugent, Robben Ford, Steve Vai, Billie Davis (Blues & Rock & Roll Hall of Fame) Scott Holt, Dennis Chambers (Santana), Juma Sultan (Jimmi Hendrix Woodstock), Bernard Purdie (Modern Drummer Hall of Fame, Lance Lopez (Buddy Miles), Norwood Fisher (Fishbones), Henri Brown (Experience Hendrix Tour) Tony Lindsay (Santana) Jim McCarty (The Rockets), Billy Cox (Hendrix)Peter Keys (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Kenny Olsen (Kid Rock), Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent) and Suzie McNeil.

Other projects Vegh has worked on include an internship with Warren Huart (Producer for Aerosmith) in LA and Nashville; writing and performing for YouTube giant Spectre Media Group in Germany and LA. His music from “Can You Play Metal on a Telecaster?” was featured in Guitar World and Guitar Player & Ultimate Guitar Magazines receiving millions of views. Christian has recorded his original songs with players like Tony Franklin (The Firm), Greg D’Angelo (White Lion), Gregg Bissonette Ringo Star All-star Band, Matt Bissonette (Elton John), Matt Starr (Mr. Bigg), and worked with producers Warren Huart (Aerosmith), Stacy Heydon (David Bowie), Jack Endino (Nirvana & Soundgarden), Steve Capp (Aretha Franklin) and Marty Bak (Tea Party) and Walter Riggi (Raise Your Voice)..

Outdoor Movie Night Event

Outdoor Movie Night & Food and Hygiene Drive Comes to Kingsville July 3, 2026

Families, friends, and community members are invited to an exciting evening of entertainment, giving back, and family fun at the Outdoor Movie Night & Food and Hygiene Drive, proudly presented by Reaching for the Stars Optimist Club of Windsor and Essex County, On A Mission For The Mission, and Guardians of the Children – Leamington Chapter.

The event will take place on Friday, July 3, beginning at 7:00 p.m., with the movie starting at approximately 9:15 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to meet the hosts, enjoy the Kids Play Zone, and claim the perfect viewing spot for an unforgettable outdoor movie experience.

This is a rain or shine event. In the event of rain, festivities and the movie presentation will move indoors to the Royal Canadian Legion Hall to ensure the fun continues.
Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to support the community by bringing non-perishable food items or hygiene products to benefit the Kingsville Community Food Bank.

In addition to the movie, guests can enjoy a charity commissary, community atmosphere, and a fun contest with three prizes awarded for the best movie viewing setup.
