SERVICE FOR UNCLAIMED BODIES OF WINDSOR-ESSEX

May 22 @ 7:00 pm

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: A SERVICE FOR THE UNCLAIMED BODIES OF WINDSOR-ESSEX

In 2014 Victoria Manor lost three residents in one week, none of whom had a funeral. When one of the residents said to their Executive Director, Leigh Vachon “it’s like they were never here, it’s like we don’t matter” she realized that they needed to do much more to ensure that anyone who resided in the home would be remembered. She began to then think about all of those people in our community who do not have people to remember them, and the idea of the Celebration of Life was born.

The first Celebration of life was held last year and this year’s, in partnership with the Good Shepherd Parish in Lakeshore, will be a beautiful tribute to those who have no one.

This multi-faith Celebration of Life is for those who have passed away and were unclaimed for burial, for those who died alone, and for those who have gone without a funeral or some other celebration of their life lived.

This year’s theme is “A Life Lived has Meaning”.
