WECF Provides Funding to Support the We Love Windsor Furniture Bank

The Windsor-Essex Community Foundation (WECF) is thrilled to announce its partnership and support for the We Love Windsor Furniture Bank through a $750 Fast-Track Grant. Funding will be used to support the furniture bank while fundraising is being completed.

The We Love Windsor Furniture Bank will provide and distribute quality used furniture and household items to Windsor-Essex individuals and families in need, including newcomers, refugees, single parents, and students.

The furniture bank creates a welcoming environment for these groups to access the basics for a reasonably healthy home life and fresh start.

The We Love Windsor Furniture Bank is located at 930 Marion Avenue, and it will be open to the public as soon as the bank has gained enough items.

The furniture bank is seeking items such as tables, chairs, lamps, art work, area rugs, couches/sofas, bookcases, bedding/linens, dressers, headboards/frames, beds (no king-sized), desks, mirrors, wardrobes, serving carts, small appliances, dishes/glasses/cutlery, pots/pans, serving dishes, hutches, and tablecloths. The furniture bank only accepts donations that are gently used and are in working order.

The WindsorEssex Community Foundation is proud to support the We Love Windsor Furniture Bank through the Fast-Track Grant Program. This program provides up to $1,000 in funding to local organizations to help support emergent situations.

The WindsorEssex Community Foundation, originally founded in 1983 as Heritage Windsor, is a perpetual community trust for philanthropic purposes. It exists to manage donors’ legacy funds, and make grants to support local community programs.

Through the Community Foundation’s many philanthropic programs we are able to establish community partnerships that last a lifetime.
