Arts Council Windsor & Region Announces Neighbourhood FREE SPACE – Self Directed Residency with Local Partners

The Arts Council Windsor & Region (ACWR) has announced neighbourhood FREE SPACE – Self Directed Residency. ACWR is partnering with one ten park: a working space, Hackforge and Left Contemporary to host two residencies in downtown Windsor.

The Hackforge residency will take place from June 5 to June 30. It is open to all artists in Canada. The outcome of each artist project will be decided by the participants but we encourage the artists to work collaboratively towards a reception at Left contemporary and an artist talk at Hackforge. Deadline to apply is Monday, May 15.

The one ten park residency will take place from June 17 to July 1. One ten park: a working space will host an artist in their space and over the duration of the artist will be able to display their work in the window.  It is open to all artists living in the Windsor & Essex region. Deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 17. Cost is free!

“One of the needs most requested by Windsor artists is the need for working space. This program will allow artists to work in the Windsor-Essex community, which provides valuable connections to residents, local partners, and arts supporters,” – Julie Tucker, ACWR Director of Public Programs and Advocacy.
