In Honour Of The Ones We Love Gala 2018
In Honour of the Ones We Love (In Honour) recently celebrated 20 years of accomplishments in the community with an “Emerald and Champagne Gala” on February 3, 2018 at the Ciociaro Club.
The major highlight of the night was a surprise $500,000 donation from the Alan Quesnel family foundation!
The gala supports such needed projects in the community and pays tribute to individuals who lost their battle with cancer and other major illnesses. A candle was lit to honour the ones we love over the past 20 years and guests feasted on a gourmet dinner and enjoyed a martini bar and entertainment.
Masters of Ceremonies (pictured below) were Tish Harcus, Global Ambassador, Canadian Club Whiskey and Biagio (Bill) Marra, Vice President, External Affairs &Executive Director, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.
Starting off as a non profit which raised money for those with cancer, In Honour has now expanded to benefit those with any critical illness or disability.
Anita Imperioli, President and Founder of In Honour of the Ones We Love (photographed) was the first to bring Kids Beating Cancer to Windsor. This therapeutic martial arts program services children between three to 18 years of age dealing with all sorts of illnesses. A key component of the program is to offer programming for the siblings as well recognizing that everyone in the family is affected.
The program runs at Windsor Regional Hospital, The John McGivney Children’s Centre as well as Regional Children’s Centre. Imperioli says the need for this program continues to grow and In Honour plans to expand with the need.
Thank you to everyone who attended the 2018 gala as well as to all who gathered at past In Honour galas over the last 20 years. And a special shout out goes to all the sponsors. Together We Do Make A Difference!
