Biz X Was There – W.E. Care For Kids Under The Big Top Kids Gala 2023

Returning since 2020 due to pandemic restrictions, on Friday, February 10, 2023, W.E. Care for Kids held its Sixth Bi-Annual Under the Big Top Kids Gala.

Taking place at the Caboto Club the event hosted over 450 guests and exhibited many incredible acrobatic and circus acts from Windsor and Detroit. Families were treated to entertainment by the Detroit Flyhouse Circus School, the Border City Barkers, the Kingsville Essex Associated Band and more.

This one of a kind event has become a signature event for W.E. Care for Kids and not only provides families with an incredible night out, but also does important work raising funds and awareness for W.E. Care for Kids. Over $92,000 was raised this year!

This event is all about the kids and is designed with them in mind, all while raising funds to support important paediatric healthcare programs in our community. Ensuring that our local paediatric healthcare teams have access to the right tools to keep our kids healthy and safe is W.E. Care for Kids priority — and events like Under the Big Top help us raise the funds needed to do that.”

Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of children in Windsor and Essex County through fundraising initiatives.

Since 1997, W.E. Care for Kids has raised more $10.8 million in support of equipment for paediatric programs and services at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Erie Shores HealthCare, Windsor Regional Hospital Campuses, John McGivney Children’s Centre, the Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Association, Family Respite Services and the Ronald McDonald House Windsor.

A professional photographer for over 30 years, Rod Denis has shot everything from fashion models and commercial products to food and automobiles. Denis is a graduate of the photography program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario and has worked in major centres such as Toronto, Halifax and Detroit. Since 1991 he has operated Rodney L. Denis Photography shooting commercial projects for corporate brochures, catalogues, calendars and the web. Rod has been taking photos for Biz X magazine since day one.
