City of Windsor Easter Holiday Hours
City of Windsor offices will be closed on Friday, March 30, 2018 and Monday, April 2, 2018 for the Good Friday and Easter Monday holidays. The next City Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Council Chambers at City Hall.
311 Call Centre
The 311 Call Centre will be closed on Friday, March 30, 2018 and Monday, April 2, 2018 for the Good Friday and Easter Monday holidays. Regular hours (weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) resume on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
211 Windsor-Essex
211 Windsor-Essex will be open 24 hours a day throughout the Easter holiday weekend.
Garbage and Recycling Collections
There will be no residential collection services on Good Friday or Easter Monday. Residential collection services will be delayed by one (1) day. Please refer to your 2018-2019 waste collection schedule, call 311, or see Waste and Recycling for more information. If you have not yet received your new schedule in the mail via Canada Post, please call 311 to arrange for one to be sent to you, or you can visit the Garbage Collection page to view the most up-to-date schedule.
Public Drop-Off and Household Chemical Waste Depots
The depots located at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and E.C. Row are closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday but open on Saturday, March 31, 2018, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Regular spring hours are Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the self disposal of garbage, renovation material, furniture, recyclables, appliances, tires, shingles and yard waste. Some disposal fees may apply. The Household Chemical Waste Depot receives paints, stains, propane tanks, motor oils, batteries, pesticides, fluorescent tube bulbs, mercury thermometers and any other household chemical waste.
Parks and Recreation
All Community and Customer Care Centres will be closed on Good Friday, March 30 and Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 (unless otherwise notified), except for previously scheduled rentals. All Community and Customer Care Centres will be open, and community centre programs will occur as normal on Saturday, March 31 and Easter Monday, April 2, 2018.
The WFCU Centre and arenas will be closed completely on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. On Easter Monday, the arenas will be closed except for previously scheduled rentals and programs.
The Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre (WIATC) Presented by WFCU Credit Union fitness centre and natatorium are open as follows:
Natatorium:
- Friday, March 30, 2018: Adult Fit Lanes – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Open Adult Swim – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday, March 31, 2018: Adult Fit Lanes – 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Open Adult Swim – 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- Sunday, April 1, 2018: Closed
- Monday, April 2, 2018: Adult Fit Lanes – 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Open Adult Swim – 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Fitness Centre:
- Friday, March 30, 2018 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Saturday, March 31, 2018: 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday, April 1, 2018: Closed
- Monday, April 2, 2018: 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union
Adventure Bay and Cannon Cove are open 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, closed on Sunday, and open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Monday. (Note: Pre-registered swim lessons also proceed as normal on Monday evening, beginning at 5 p.m.)
Parking Enforcement
There will be no municipal parking enforcement on Good Friday or Easter Monday, and municipal ticket payment offices will be closed as well. Ticket payments may still be made online by visiting the E-Services tab at www.citywindsor.ca.
Windsor Public Library
All locations of Windsor Public Library will be closed Friday, March 30, 2018 through Monday, April 2, 2018, except Central, Budimir and Riverside libraries, which will be open Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Museum Windsor
Chimczuk Museum will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday but open regular hours on Saturday and Sunday. François Baby House will be closed March 30 to April 2, 2018. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
Transit Windsor
City buses will run on the Sunday/holiday schedule on Friday and Sunday, and regular schedules for Saturday and Monday. The Tunnel Bus will operate on its regular schedules throughout the weekend. Schedules and route maps are available online at www.transitwindsor.ca, and this information is also available at Windsor Public Library branches, Customer Care centres and Transit centres. The Transit sales office at 300 Chatham Street West is open daily from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. The sales office at 3700 North Service Road East will be closed on Friday.
