Enhancing quality of life for Amherstburg residents and establishing the community priorities are key goals of the strategic plan.

Strategic Plan being taken by Amherstburg is taking an important step in ensuring continued economic, social and community vitality. Council and staff will work collaboratively to develop a five year community based strategic plan that will inform Council decision making and provide direction to staff in terms of future priorities.

Input from residents, community groups and businesses is a cornerstone to ensuring that the vision, goals and actions in the Community Based Strategic Plan reflect the needs, values and aspirations of all community members.

There will be a number of ways to participate in this process including an on-line community survey which will be available in February. A direct link to the survey will be available on the Town’s website www.amherstburg.ca or in paper copy at the Municipal offices.

Public Meetings will be scheduled in March to bring together residents, community groups and business owners to share priorities and seek local input.

Developing a Community Based Strategic Plan is key to preparing Amherstburg for a sustainable future.

“As a government, we want to ensure we are maximizing our resources and operating in an efficient and responsible manner. A community based strategic plan will guide us towards that” – Amherstburg Mayor Aldo DiCarlo.

The Amherstburg Community Based Strategic Plan will be made available on the municipal website in early summer 2016.
