LaSalle Extends Waiving of Penalty and Interest

The Town of LaSalle, in conjunction with the County of Essex and the other local county municipalities, continue to monitor the situation regarding COVID-19 and the financial uncertainty that our residents are facing. The waiving of penalty and interest on LaSalle property tax and water bill payments has been extended to June 30, 2020. Late payment fees will be applied on July 1, 2020 on outstanding balances, and the first of every month after that unless otherwise changed or updated.

Property tax and water accounts that are currently set up for pre-authorized payment (PAP) plans will remain unaffected. Property owners who would like to be removed from an existing PAP plan, or would like to cancel a postdated cheque that has already been submitted, must contact the Town’s Finance Department as soon as possible. While financial relief may be necessary for some of our residents, property owners are encouraged to maintain their regular tax and water payments.
