EverJonge Homes Kick Starts Miracle Project With Over $1,000 In Food & Toiletries
June 27, 2020 is going to be a game changer in Essex County and EverJonge Homes (pronounced “Ever-Young”) say they are proud to help build that Miracle.
“This has been a difficult spring for many families in our community, we want to ensure we’re doing our part to help,” says Ron deJonge, EverJonge Homes, Owner. “I’m happy this day was created, because so many of us want to help.”
On June 27th, “Miracle Day”, a grass-roots movement to help stock local food banks takes place across the region. Residents from Windsor-Essex who can donate, are asked to place a non-perishable food item on their front doorstep for a volunteer to collect.
“Volunteers will be collecting donations from neighbourhoods around Windsor Essex and everything that is collected from that community will stay in that community,” Miracle Day Volunteer Captain, Jennifer Stokes explains. “So Amherstburg donations for example will go to the Amherstburg Food Bank and Amherstburg Mission.”
deJonge continues by stating “EverJonge is a family company, it’s been our priority for 33 years to build dream homes for other families. Right now, however, there are families in our community that need help putting dinner on the table; we know this kind of donation will help those families, and hope it might inspire a few more to donate.”
He adds, “This is becoming a wonderful neighbourhood for families, so we thought we’d donate on behalf of the families that don’t move in, until later in the fall. You can see there’s non-perishables from all of our builds.”
