Online 50/50 Tickets On Sale Now In Support Of Easter Seals Kids
Held in support of Easter Seals Ontario, the “Rotary At Work 50/50” is an online draw raising crucial funds for kids with physical disabilities in response to the postponement of Easter Seals’ major spring fundraisers.
“We had high hopes for fundraising this year as an Ambassador for Easter Seals,” shares Tanya Harrison, whose son Alex Bondy is Windsor-Essex’s Male Easter Seals Ambassador for 2020, “but as the Telethon had to be postponed due to COVID-19, kids like Alex need your help more than ever.”
The online 50/50 draw began in Sault Ste. Marie but has gained the support of Easter Seals’ communities across the province as Ontarians work together to help kids be kids.
Anyone in Ontario interested in supporting Easter Seals kids can purchase 50/50 tickets online. One winner will be drawn at 4 P.M. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. The prize pot is already over $1,000 and growing! Tickets are 3 for $5, 10 for $10, or 60 for $20.
“COVID-19 has changed a lot of things, but kids like us still need your help – more than ever before!” shares Brigid Kidd, 2020 Female Easter Seals Ambassador for Windsor-Essex. Children and youth with physical disabilities are part of the vulnerable sector and continue to need help staying safe and healthy in their daily lives.
“Novel Coronavirus has disabled our ability to deliver events and raise funds through traditional means. Yet, with over a $1m in grant requests currently in queue, kids across the province like Brigid and Alex are desperately awaiting our support. The online 50/50 draw will help bridge the gap to providing essential equipment until we can get back to delivering our events later this fall and in the New Year.” – Jeremy Renaud, Easter Seals’ Development Officer
Originally established by Rotary Club members in Windsor in 1922, Easter Seals Ontario has been a champion of children and youth with physical disabilities from all ethnic and religious backgrounds for the past 98 years. Funds generated support essential mobility and accessibility equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, ramps and lifts, for kids with physical disabilities, as well as opportunities for kids to experience fun, friendship and participation at fully accessible Easter Seals camps. Easter Seals is only able to provide its programs with the generous support of its donors and sponsors.
