The Time To Help Sparky Is Now

Christmas is just around the corner, but there’s still time to get your cash or toy donation to Sparky!

Despite the lockdown in effect since December 12 in our region you can still drop off toys (wear your mask and social distance of course) at any local fire station or retail drop box location at Canadian Tire, Costco or Toys R Us in Windsor.

The Windsor Firefighter’s Benefit Fund is the sponsor of the Sparky’s Toy Drive program. This program has a long time tradition of helping to provide local needy families with new toys for their 13 and under aged children at Christmas.

Donations are accepted until December 23 with toys and gifts in the $25 range each. Gifts for those aged nine to 13 are always needed most.

A complete list of where toys can be dropped off can be found online.

You can also donate gift cards and money as well!

Sparky’s Toy Drive is run entirely by volunteers and continues to operate by the generosity of the people of Windsor and Essex County.

The fire department team is currently headed by Bob Bailey, Sean Costello and Rob Kouzoukas. Many other Windsor firefighters (both current and retired) work multiple hours picking up toys and assisting businesses with charity events that help Sparky meet his quota. We thank them tremendously for donating their time to help the community!

Thank you as well to all those who donated in Biz X’s name. . . since we were unable to host our awards gala this year and collect toys and cash from guests, we appreciate all those who took the time to still make sure all local children have a present under the tree this Christmas.
