The 2025 Windsor Jewish Film Festival is Back — and Bigger than Ever!
From June 16 to 19, 2025, join the Windsor Jewish Federation and Community Centre at the beautiful Capitol Theatre in downtown Windsor for four days of powerful, funny, moving, and unforgettable films from around the world.
Now in its 22nd year, this festival is a local gem that draws film lovers from Windsor-Essex, Southwestern Ontario, and even Metro Detroit. Whether you’re into gripping dramas, eye-opening documentaries, or laugh-out-loud comedies, there’s something for everyone in this year’s lineup.
The 2025 festival features award-winning films from Israel, France, the U.S., and more — all exploring Jewish life, history, culture, and identity through bold, modern storytelling.
Don’t miss the Opening Night feature, A Real Pain, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin. It’s funny, heartfelt, and the perfect way to kick off the week.
This year, organizers are leaning into variety — with a special focus on comedy to balance out the more serious stories. So, whether you’re looking to be inspired, challenged, or just have a great night out at the movies, you’ll find it here.
“The Windsor Jewish Film Festival serves as a means to tell the Jewish story to both the Jewish and non-Jewish community in Windsor,” says Joe Schnayer, Head of Programming and Senior Services at the Windsor Jewish Community Centre. “Learn about our history, our experiences, and our traditions through films from around the world.”
All films will screen at the Capitol Theatre — easy to get to, comfortable, and full of historic charm. Tickets are available online and at the door.
