The Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix June 3-5, 2016.

On Sunday June 5^th at the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix a unique steel art piece for the 50th Anniversary of Team Penske was presented to Roger Penske as a part of the opening ceremonies before the Chevrolet Dual II. Windsor Artist Marc (MotorMarc) Lacourciere and Governor Rick Snyder unveil the 8 x 4 art to a thumb up Roger Penske.

The event included the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix Chevrolet, Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans featuring the cars of the Verizon IndyCar Series, the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers with the sports cars of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the high-flying trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks presented by Traxxas and the return of the Trans Am Series in the Motor City 100.

The MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage featured live music throughout the weekend, including a performance by Detroit’s own The Romantics on Saturday night and Morris Day and the Time on Sunday afternoon. Local bands took to the stage throughout the weekend including Matt Austin on Friday, Power Play Detroit on Saturday and the Marcus Douglas Band with Kiki on Sunday.

Deborah Jones and her team at Biz X Magazine work so incredibly hard to produce each issue and their November / December Awards 2024 issue is fantastic! So happy to see that Erie Street Woodworks won in their Woodworking Wonders category. There were 196 nominees this year and I have no idea how Deborah and the team of judges were able to choose between all of the talented nominees.

Deborah and the Biz X team are not only a group of people who work together, they are the spirit of Windsor's community, business essence and bringing social awareness. As a new member of this beautiful city, it was through Biz X magazine that I learned who is who and where is where. I attended their 25th Anniversary Gala in 2022 and what a fantastic evening. Everything, from the sparkling decor, glam photos, entertainment, guest speakers and our own Windsor fire department fundraising for Sparky's Toy Drive, was a true celebration.
