Thanks to the friendly team at Zehrs Markets, Windsor residents will be able to ride city buses (tunnel bus excluded) for FREE, between 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27, until the end of the service day to view the Ford Fireworks on the Detroit River.
“Each year the fireworks night attracts thousands of residents to our beautiful riverfront”, said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. “And year after year it’s thanks to Zehrs and their sponsorship of Transit Windsor that getting there is so smooth and hassle free for everyone”.
For the eighth consecutive year, the team at Zehrs Markets has stepped up to the plate to make sure that Windsor residents can ride the bus at no cost to enjoy the fireworks. Windsor has three local Zehrs Markets stores located at Parkway Mall, St. Clair Beach and Malden Road.
“We take pride in supporting the communities in which we operate and are committed to providing the best customer service that we can,” says Derrick Pittman, vice-president, Zehrs Markets. “This event is important to the Windsor community and therefore important to us.”
Zehrs Markets also sponsors a FREE Park n’ Ride shuttle service from Devonshire Mall to the downtown area between 6:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The return service begins immediately after the fireworks and continues until approximately 12:15 a.m., or until all passengers in line have boarded the bus to return to their car.
Look for Transit Windsor’s bus to be parked on site at Zehrs Markets from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for their annual Stuff-a-Bus Food Drive event. This event helps raise funds and provides food to area food banks. Mark your calendar to lend your support to the Windsor Essex Food Bank Association on:
- Thursday, June 16th at Zehrs Markets, St. Clair Beach
- Friday, June 17th at Zehrs Markets, Malden Road
- Saturday, June 18th at Zehrs Markets, Parkway Mall
