Construction Begins on Windsor’s New Fire Hall and Emergency Operations Centre

Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens and Fire Chief Bruce Montone addressed guests attending today’s groundbreaking for the state-of-the-art new Fire Hall and Emergency Operations Centre.

The energy efficient, state-of-the-art facility will provide enhanced fire services to residents in South Windsor and the surrounding area.  At the same time, 3,500 of the structure’s 13,000 square feet will be dedicated to a new Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).

“I congratulate Windsor City Council both past and present for demonstrating a real commitment to continuous improvement and for providing momentum to additional long-term infrastructure plans that will help to better protect and service our citizens for generations to come.” Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens

Windsor’s Fire Chief, Bruce Montone says the new 6.5 million dollar facility is a welcome addition to Windsor Fire and Rescue Services.  “The new Station 6 will better serve South Windsor while the Emergency Operations Centre will improve our emergency management for the entire city.”

Loaring Construction will begin work on the new building immediately.  Construction is expected to be complete by August of 2017.
