Leisure Trailer Sales . . . Family-Run & Family-Fun Always!

By Rebecca Wright

When a local family owned leisure trailer business opened in the community several decades ago, they knew they were in for the long haul.

Now, nearly 60 years later, Leisure Trailer Sales is bigger and better than ever!

“We’ve been in business for over 58 years, and we plan on continual growth and being a part of the community for at least another 58 years,” says Co-Owner Tom Raymond.

The business is co-owned by Raymond and his brother Jim, along with their junior partner and brother, Edward. They are also the Biz X Award winner for “The Ultimate Trailer Hook-up.”

Back in 1957, their father, Andre, opened the business primarily as an auto repair shop called R & R Garage in Riverside, Windsor, but it quickly turned into a business selling all types of recreational vehicles, including
snowmobiles, mini-bikes, dune buggies and tent campers.

By the 1970s, the business was exclusively dealing trailers, and in the late 1980s, the growing business moved to its current location, 204 Patillo Road (at E.C. Row) in Tecumseh, and changed its name to what it is now,
Leisure Trailer Sales (LeisureTrailers.com).

“We sit on what we like to call seven acres of RV fun,” says Raymond.

The business boasts many of the most popular brands of tent campers, travel trailers, fifth wheels and motorhomes, such as Jayco, Keystone, Forest River and Thor. And they come in all sizes and prices, to fit
all lifestyle and budgetary needs, explains Raymond.

“People think that the RV lifestyle and their ‘dream trailer’ is beyond their reach and not affordable, but there is nothing further from the truth,” he says.

Leisure Trailer Sales offers the opportunity to finance trailers for up to 20 years, along with extended warranties. And there are so many different styles, you’re sure to find one that fits your needs, states Raymond.

“Some trailers are perfect for families with sleeping for up to 10, an outside kitchen, multiple slide-outs for that extra room, and more,” explains Raymond. “Then we have trailers and motorhomes that are suited to retired couples that come complete with two to three TVs, a fireplace and swivel rockers. We hear all the time from our customers that some of the trailers are nicer than their homes!”
