CELEBRITY SIPPERS PREVIEW UPCOMING WINES OF THE WORLD!
The Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland hosted a lunch-time launch of their 22nd Annual Wines of the World, on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017 at the Fogolar Furlan Club. The local media were invited to attend, and a few of them participated as celebrity sippers who tried to identify grape varieties using local wines.
Celebrity Sippers included Beverly Becker, Windsor Star; Marlene Corey, YourTV (Cogeco); Jim Crichton, CTV News; Joe McParland, Biz X Magazine and YourTV (Cogeco); Anne Chetty, President, Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland 2017-2018; Pat Reid Crichton (MCC Windsor Essex).
Guest speaker, Richard Hawrish, a former employee of the LCBO and a self-taught wine expert, presented the Rotary gathering with some valuable tips on identifying the various types of grapes used in a wine, as well as identifying the particular types of wines themselves.
He then had the six celebrity sippers use his tips in trying to identify two red and two white wines. The winner of this friendly competition was Marlene Corey of YourTV.
The event was emceed by Gordon Orr (TWEPI), a longstanding member of The Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, and a man of many one-liners.
