Belle Vue Conservancy has won the National Trust Community Builder Prize, $10,000
The National Trust has announced the winners of its THIS PLACE MATTERS competition and the “Belle Vue House – A Clear View Into the Future” project by the Belle Vue Conservancy, has won the Community Builder Prize, and with it, $10,000 in funding for the most votes on a national level!
Twenty-five participating project groups from coast to coast competed from June 14 to July 20 for Canadians’ votes and donations. Every group had the chance to win – and raise – much-needed funding for essential heritage projects.
The goal of the National Trust’s THIS PLACE MATTERS competition is to bring together community partners and community members to breathe new life into historic places across Canada. Since launching two years ago, over $1,400,000 has been directed to worthy heritage projects through THIS PLACE MATTERS.
“Your votes really did matter! We couldn’t have done this without everyone’s support.
People spoke (voted) and the Belle Vue project won the most votes. The project is part of window repairs and the money will be calculated as part of the 1 million dollar fundraising goal” says Michael Prue; treasurer for the Belle Vue Conservancy.
