The Belle Vue House project has been selected to compete for prize money in the National Trust for Canada’s This Place Matters competition

During the competition, the group will be working to raise $60,000 specifically to restore or replace windows at the Belle Vue House. The Belle Vue House was designated a National Historic Site in 1959 and twice over again by the province and municipality. It has served the region well after the devastating War of 1812 as renewed hope in rebuilding the community through a working farm, home to famous painters Margaret and Catherine, a WW1 veterans home and finally the Ursuline nun’s convent. The money we raise will be a step closer to opening Belle Vue’s windows and doors again for public use.

“We urge everyone to vote every day because every dollar or vote cast, beginning at noon on Thursday June 15 to July 17, 2017, will count in winning the prize money. This is a critical time in securing the structure of the house so we can open her up as soon as possible. Voting is easy.”
