CRIME STOPPERS – CREATING PARTNERSHIPS AGAINST CRIME, ONE GROCERY BAG AT A TIME
Windsor and Essex County Crime Stoppers is excited to present a partnership plaque to Zehrs at Lauzon and Tecumseh allowing them pack groceries for their customers for a donation to Crime Stoppers. Several board of directors and the programs two police coordinators were on hand to present the management and staff of Zehrs with a community partnership program plaque in recognition for their outstanding commitment to the local Crime Stoppers.
It is because of this partnership, in 2018 and 2019 that Crime Stoppers raised over $22,000.00 (In 2018, $8,150.00 was raised; In 2019, $13,855.00 was raised). These monies help the organization to pay out tips to those that call in to help assist in prosecuting those guilty of crimes.
“Members of the Crime Stoppers board of directors and staff also want to thank the staff at Zehrs, says Lina Busico, board president. “They have been wonderful to us in allowing our volunteers to come help them in packing groceries for the customers.”
Windsor and Essex County Crime Stoppers is a not-for-profit organization that relies on donations and fund raisers throughout the year to raise much needed funds.
This year marks Windsor and Essex County Crime Stoppers programs 35th anniversary. The partnerships such as this, working within the community, with our volunteers and the public, that has made our programme a huge success.
