Downtown Windsor Turns up the Chill with Polar Fest

Freezin’ for a reason! Winter in Windsor is about to get a whole lot cooler as the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) turns up the fun with Polar Fest, an all-new winter festival set to take over Vision Corridor Park (next to Art Windsor-Essex and the Windsor International Aquatic & Training Centre) on Friday, February 28, from 4 PM to 8 PM. Whether you’re braving the cold or just here for the festivities, get ready for a frosty celebration like no other!

Coinciding with Windsor’s annual Polar Plunge, this high-energy event will see fearless participants take an icy dip into a specially constructed pool on the front lawn, OUTSIDE, to raise funds for Special Olympics Ontario. Starting at 6:30 pm, the Plunge will bring together law enforcement, athletes, and community members in an inspiring display of courage and generosity.

But the fun doesn’t stop at the water’s edge! Polar Fest will be packed with exciting entertainment, delicious eats, and local shopping. Festivalgoers can enjoy a lively soundtrack from DJ Evolution, browse unique handcrafted goods from artisan vendors, indulge in comfort food from local favourites, and take part in interactive winter-themed kids crafts.

“Polar Fest isn’t just about embracing the cold—it’s about embracing our community. This festival celebrates Windsor’s resilience, creativity, and generosity. Whether you’re plunging, shopping, or just soaking up the atmosphere, you’re part of something special.” – Chris MacLeod, Chair of the DWBIA

Windsor Police Chief Jason Bellaire echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the festival’s broader impact. “The Polar Plunge has always been a symbol of strength, courage, and giving back. With the addition of Polar Fest, we’re not just raising funds for an important cause—we’re bringing people together for a night of fun, connection, and camaraderie.”

Don’t miss out on Windsor’s coolest new tradition! Bundle up, bring your friends and family, and make unforgettable winter memories at Polar Fest!
