Do you operate a business in the town of Essex? If so, Essex Town Council wants to hear from you.
Essex Town Council Economic Development Office is conducting a Business Climate Survey which will gather information and opinions from businesses, enabling the town to develop programs and policies that reflect the reality of doing business in Essex.
“As a key component of economic development, Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) recognizes that jobs and wealth creation are more likely to come from encouraging the success of local business,” says Economic Development Officer Anne Miskovsky.
“The online survey is designed to help us better understand the local business base, identify common themes and emerging trends, and establish priorities for economic development projects within our communities.”
Every business in the Town of Essex is encouraged to complete the short survey found on the Essex Town Council’s website (essex.ca).
“We want to hear from everyone, whether you are a sole proprietor working out of your house, a franchise owner/manager, a retailer in our downtowns, a farmer or winery owner, just starting out or well-established, a service provider or not-for-profit, a medical professional, restauranteur or B&B operator. Every opinion and suggestion is important, valid and welcome.”
Miskovsky says the survey is short but sufficient to gather a great deal of information.
“We want to learn what keeps business owners and operators up at night. What are their concerns? What does the future hold for them? What tough decisions are they facing? We also want to know what works well, where they see opportunities for growth and expansion, and how we and our regional partners can help make this happen.”
All businesses are urged to share the survey with others in their network. The more participation, the better the results will be.
The survey will be available online until April 1, 2016.
