Walkerville Brewery and Craft Heads Brewing Co. Present Cheque to Canadian Cancer Society from Fine N’ Dandy Project 2018
Recently, Walkerville Brewery and Craft Heads Brewing Co. presented Canadian Cancer Society with a cheque donation of a combined $4,390.00.
In March of 2016, the Fine N’ Dandy project was conceptualized by former Walkerville Brewery brewer, Jeffrey Craig. When he was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, he did not let it stop him from doing what he loved – brewing! Using his science background and support from friends at Craft Heads Brewing Company and Walkerville Brewery, he collaborated on a beer featuring dandelions as a main ingredient to help in the fight against cancer.
It was with heavy hearts that we said “Good Bye” to our dear friend and colleague, Jeffrey, on August 7, 2017. In his honor, Walkerville Brewery and Craft Heads Brewing Co. wanted to continue the Fine N’ Dandy project and further the efforts to fight against cancer. During the month of April (Daffodil Month), both breweries raised funds through means of beer sales and t-shirt sales at their establishments.
Throughout the month of April, Craft Heads Brewing Co. had their ‘Fine N’ Dandy’ Belgian Saison (the first collaborative brew between two local Windsor craft breweries) available as a charity tap. New to 2018, Craft Heads bottled the product for consumers to take home. All proceeds from the Fine N’ Dandy Saison benefited the Canadian Cancer Society.
A total donation of $2,260.00 will be presented by Craft Heads Brewing Co. On April 27th, Walkerville Brewery held a “Fine N’ Dandy Night” charity event at the brewery to raise money and awareness. Walkerville Brewery produced a Dandelion Pilsener cask of which 100% of sales were donated. As well, Fine N’ Dandy t-shirts were sold throughout the month of April. A total donation of $2,130.00 will be presented by Walkerville Brewery.
The overall presentation was a combined $4,390.00 towards Canadian Cancer Society from proceeds of the Fine N’ Dandy project.
