It Won’t Give You Money, But It Will Give You Happiness!

Imagine that happiness is a person and s/he knocked on your door offering you a big job. But there is only one catch. You are not going to be paid a single dime, but the benefits will far outweigh the pay cheque that will help you live a happier and more productive life. Would you accept the offer? Or are you going to pass on it?

Hmm . . . money or happiness. What to choose?

Money is essential for living; there is no doubt about it. We need it to live. But the truth is, as good and essential as having money is, it is not everything if you have so much and you are not the least bit happy in your life.

Happiness comes from doing well, regardless of the experiences and challenges we have faced.
So, let’s look at some of the good that can reward us with a free gift of happiness.

Love and Kindness

Next to kindness, love is the most powerful force and vibration in the world. To love yourself, your life and others, puts you on a high frequency of happiness. Think about this, when you thoroughly accept the way you are, the way you look, including all the flaws and mistakes you have made, and are still able to smile, then others’ opinions of you are not even a slight concern.

To love others regardless of who they are, is acceptance. Love is calmness, bliss, and no negativity can come close to the power love brings.

Speak more kindness and do more kindness.

Yes, love is crucial for a happier life, but expressing acts of kindness will never take a back seat. We need kindness. It is our life saver and such a valuable tool for living a worry free, productive and happier life. First of all, be gentle with yourself each day. You have not had an easy life. So, being kind for how much you have overcome should always be acknowledged. It is something you must be proud of.

In addition, kindness to others makes you feel better about yourself. You are doing something for the betterment of someone else. This separates you from the many unkind people in this world. So make sure you travel with it wherever you are and wherever you go.

Validate your worth

You don’t need approval or validation from anyone. You are not here to impress others to be like them or fit in, because doing this means you are forgetting about yourself. And that is something you can’t do. Happiness is a journey my friends. It is not so hard to find. In fact, it is right in front of you. NO, better yet, it is right inside of you. You just have to search for it by doing what are the most meaningful things in life.

You can’t live a life trying to please people, just so you can fit in or be liked. Because the truth is, it will be frustrating and hard for you to keep up, thus setting you up for disappointment. But, you are not a disappointment. You are a unique, wonderful and kind hearted person. If you want to be liked, then I want you to like yourself first. The fact of the matter is you don’t need approval. If only you realized that you were enough then, are now, and ALWAYS will be. Keep your standards high, be confident in who you are and don’t follow anyone’s path but your own.

Don’t you ever give up

Not now and not ever. You are on your way. Whether you are starting something or in the middle of trying to achieve a goal, just keep moving forward. You can take a rest, as long as you are not taking a rest walking backwards.

Don’t quit on yourself. It’s not who you are. You are not here to quit, you are here to fight. So fight the problems, fight the negativity or whatever you are going through, because you are a winner and winners have never given up. You are a champion and a survivor. So go out there and win.

We all feel alone from time to time, but it should not make you feel lonely. If it is, then you have isolated yourself from the world. Being around positive people who are ambitious, kind and encouraging is good for your mental health and can help enable you to make positive strides in your life. Who we spend most of our time with is who we become. If you spend time with negative people who hate, blame and play the victim that will keep you in a down mood. Happy people love and do the right things, just like you. So make sure you look for those positive people who are better fitted for you.

I am here to help.

Volunteering does not pay you, but the happiness you receive from doing it is far greater than to be paid for it. Volunteering is essential for our mental health, because when you are doing something good for your community, you are giving your life more purpose and meaning. In addition, you are helping yourself and your self esteem. Doesn’t it feel great to know that you are playing an important part of the community by helping it?

I remember I once went to volunteer at a downtown mission with some of my extended families. I looked to see all the unfortunate and disadvantaged people sitting there as I said a prayer for them. I felt so good that they could sense and feel my sincerest compassion for them. I felt really good about myself that I was doing something good by volunteering to serve food for the homeless. I felt really happy about who I was as a human being, because I had no expectations or wanting anything in return. It all came from my heart.

If you have never volunteered, then please give it a try. It will change your life and give your life more perspective that you do not have it as bad as many people do in this world.

So, time next time you find yourself feeling down and out, I want you to remember it does not cost you a dime to find true happiness. All you have to do is take a look around you and you will find that there are so many things we can do each day to improve the quality of our life. Don’t use money to buy temporary happiness. Do the things that will buy you permanent happiness.

God bless you.
Never give up. Keep moving forward. Believe in yourself. Be a Legend.
Sincerely, Danny Gautama
