Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Campaign to benefit VON’s Ontario Student Nutrition Program and The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County

Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Week 2024 will take place from April 29 – May 5. The iconic chocolate chunk cookies topped with pink and blue icing smiles will be available at participating Tim Hortons restaurants across the country. 100% of proceeds from these special cookies will be donated to local charities including VON’s Ontario Student Nutrition Program (OSNP) and The Hospice of Windsor Essex County.

OSNP provides funding and support to 95 schools in Windsor-Essex, aiding the development and implementation of healthy breakfast, snack and lunch programs that support students’ health and academic success.

“Smile Cookie Week helps support the sustainability of local school food programs. Schools are feeling the pressure of food inflation, so this campaign goes a long way in helping to ensure that children and youth get the nourishment they need to succeed at school,” says Danielle Findlay, Supervisor of Community Relations for the Ontario Student Nutrition Program.

The proceeds from every Smile Cookie purchase will help provide a nourishing snack to a local student. “We are so grateful for the support of the Smile Cookie campaign and the generous store owners, staff and customers that make it a success,” says Findlay.

In addition, this year, the Smile Cookie will also support The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, which provides compassionate, clinical, end-of-life care to patients and their loved ones across Windsor and Essex County. The Hospice offers specialized wrap-around services to adults, children, and their caregivers, in the setting of their choice – whether it be in the Residences or in patient’s own homes.

“Tim Hortons has been a longtime partner and supporter of our Hospice, going above and beyond to offer donations of baked goods, coffee, soups, and more to our patients and their loved ones,” says Incoming Executive Director, Katharen Bortolin. “We are so grateful to also be a recipient of Smile Cookie Week, with donations directly supporting the memorable moments and quality care that Hospice offers our patients and families.”

Community members, individuals and organizations can also support the campaign by purchasing bulk orders at participating Tim Hortons’ stores. Corporate and group orders are a great way to share a smile and show appreciation to customers or employees. Pre-order forms for purchases by the dozen are available in-store and online.
