KINGSVILLE RAISES FLAG FOR COMMUNITY LIVING

May is Community Living Month in Ontario and the Town of Kingsville is proud to show its support with an official flag-raising ceremony at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017. This month, more than 100 Community Living organizations across the province will participate in promoting public awareness and the importance of including people who have an intellectual disability in all aspects of the community.

“Community Living Essex County envisions a society where everyone belongs,” said Manager of Community Relations and Resource Development, Tony DeSantis, “where everyone has equality, respect and acceptance.”

The organization helps the community develop its capacity to welcome people with intellectual disabilities to participate in community life in meaningful, productive ways. “Community Living Essex County is a non-profit, charitable organization that supports over 650 people with an intellectual disability throughout Essex County,” Kingsville Mayor, Nelson Santos stated. “We’re proud to raise a flag and stand with them in recognition of their vision for communities that celebrate inclusion and inspire possibilities.”

The flag-raising happened Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Town Hall, 2021 Division Road North, Kingsville.
