McHappy Day is back in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities – Southwestern Ontario

McHappy Day is coming up on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at McDonald’s restaurants across Canada—an annual day of community giving in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). On McHappy Day, a portion of proceeds from every McDonald’s menu item sold go to RMHC to raise critical funds for our programs and the families with sick & injured children we support.

Last year, RMHC-SWO saved families $5.9 million in out-of-pocket savings.

“Funds raised allow us to continue providing accommodations, wellness programming, and meals to families, so they can focus on what matters most—their child,” said Chater. In 2024, RMHC-SWO served 297 communities from our Chapter, keeping families close to their sick child and the care they need. McHappy Day 2025 Highlights:

  • McHappy Day is Thursday, May 8
  • Leading up to, and on, McHappy Day, you can buy a pair of McHappy Day socks for $6
    (plus tax) at participating McDonald’s restaurants and through the McDonald’s app to
    support families with sick children (while supplies last).
  • Leading up to, and on McHappy Day, McDonald’s guests can make a $2, $5, or $10
    donation in-restaurant and receive a McHappy Day paper heart to show support for
    families with sick children in their community. Digital hearts will also be available for a
    $2, $5 or $10 donation through the McDonald’s app.
  • On McHappy Day, and every day, guests can Round Up for RMHC. Available in the
    Drive-Thru, kiosk and front counter, McDonald’s Guests can Round Up their order total
    to the nearest dollar and donate 100% of the difference towards supporting McHappy
    Day.

Order your faves on May 8 at McDonald’s or through the McDonald’s app. A portion of proceeds from ALL McDonald’s menu items sold ALL day will help families with sick children.

RMHC-SWO provides out-of-town families with a home to stay at while their child is being treated at Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre and Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus. RMHC-SWO Family Room in London provides a comfortable place for families to rest and recharge right inside the hospital. McDonald’s Canada, RMHC’s founding and forever mission partner, has provided much-needed monetary, gift-in-kind, and volunteer support since the first House was built in 1981. Long-standing restaurant fundraising, such as McHappy Day, the Happy Meal, and Coin Boxes, are partnered with new initiatives, including RMHC Cookies, Round Up, and Kiosk Giving, to raise invaluable funding and awareness for keeping families close.
