National Blood Donor Week June 8 To June 13, 2020
Local MPs are uniting to support hospital patients by adopting the Windsor blood donor centre during National Blood Donor Week.
Windsor and local area MP’s have partnered with Canadian Blood Services in Windsor to help ensure that lifesaving blood products are available to hospital patients in need. As part of their dedication to their community local MPs — Brian Masse, MP (Windsor West); Irek Kusmierczyk , MP (Windsor-Tecumseh); Chris Lewis, MP (Essex) and Dave Epp, MP (Chatham-Kent – Leamington) have adopted the Windsor Blood Donor Centre and are committed to recruit new donors and fill appointments to help collect the collection target for the upcoming week.
“We are pleased and proud to have the opportunity to give to Canada’s Lifeline in this way and with National Blood Donor Week what better way to assist than by giving the gift of life and by adopting a clinic, we can all make a difference in the lives of hospital patients,” Masse states.
As hospitals resume procedures that were put on hold during COVID-19, now more than ever, every blood donation appointment needs to be filled.
They are encouraging residents to join this campaign and book your appointment, tag your MP along with #CanadasLifeline, #NBDW2020 #DonorsAreEssential on social media and share a photo of you donating to help celebrate, recognize and create awareness for the urgent need for blood in our area.
Individuals can take part by making an appointment to give life at the Windsor Blood Donor Centre, located at 3909 Grand Marais Road East, during National Blood Donor Week June 8 to June 13, 2020.
