NEWSFLASH MAY 2026 – WINDSOR AIRPORT; WE SERVE SENIORS EVENT & ICHA FISHING DERBY
Big news, travellers! As of May 1, 2026, Porter Airlines began offering nonstop service seven days a week between Windsor International Airport (YQG) and Ottawa (YOW). This new route makes it easier than ever for Windsor Essex residents and business travellers to connect with Canada’s capital — whether you’re travelling for government, business, education, or a welldeserved getaway.
With convenient flight times and Porter’s signature onboard experience, travellers can enjoy seamless access to Ottawa’s iconic attractions, including Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal, and a vibrant cultural and culinary scene.
The Windsor–Ottawa service also opens the door to convenient connections onward from Ottawa to destinations across Canada and beyond.
“The launch of Porter’s Windsor–Ottawa service reflects the strength of our ongoing partnership and our shared commitment to enhancing connectivity for the Windsor Essex region,” says Mark Galvin, President and CEO, YQG Windsor International Airport. “This new route provides our community with greater choice, convenience, and access to the nation’s capital, while supporting business, tourism, and personal travel. We’re pleased to continue working with Porter to expand air service options that meet the evolving needs of our travellers.”
