NEWSFLASH September 2025 – Em’s Crystals; Hospice; Chatham-Kent Chamber Of Commerce; Logic Executive Search and Workplace Solutions; Douglas Marketing Group
ON THE MOVE
More “energy” can now be found in the 1500 block of Victoria Avenue in Windsor! Em’s Crystals has moved its retail store from 419 Shepherd Street West to a beautiful family home (two blocks away) at historic 1548 Victoria Avenue. Customers enter through a side entrance and discover more than double their previous retail space. A quaint sign (with Harry Potter vibes) welcomes you at the side door — Platform 9 ¾ — symbolizing the magical attraction of beautiful crystals, stones, and other natural health products available to be purchased at Em’s Crystals. Since their opening two years ago they have developed a large customer following resulting in cramped retail space and parking. They have recently renovated a section of the family basement and Owner Emelgie Barredo Soares (Em) proudly states: “I am focused on bringing a marvelous experience to my customers, so I invite you to my home!” This move lets Em serve her customers and stay close to her three school-aged children — and there is plenty of on-street parking. Retail hours are Tuesday to Friday, 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. CLOSED Sundays & Mondays. You can also shop online 24/7.
The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Inc.’s 23rd annual Face to Face Campaign, officially began August 15 and runs until September 30, 2025. Each year, this campaign raises funds for the Fairley Family Transportation Program, which provides rides to medical appointments for Hospice patients and families in the community. The G.E.N.I.E. Program (Granting Exceptional N’ Impactful Experiences) is also supported through Face to Face, offering the opportunity for patients receiving Hospice care, whether in the Hospice Residences, or in their own home, to request special trips or outings. How can you help support these memorable moments and much-needed rides? (1) Collect pledges from friends and family as a Face to Face Canvasser. (2) Make a personal donation online, through the mail, or in support of a Face to Face Canvasser. (3) Spread the word about Face to Face! Collect pledges or donate online.
