Open Streets Windsor 2025 Celebrates Community, Culture and Wellness from Sandwich Town to Ford City!

Come out on Sunday, September 21, 2025, as Open Streets Windsor transforms an 8-kilometre stretch of roadway into a car-free zone along its classic route from Sandwich Town in the west to Ford City in the east.

This annual event, free to all, brings together residents and visitors alike to explore and enjoy the vibrant neighbourhoods that make Windsor unique. Music and activities will line the route as the streets are reimagined to allow the community to gather, engage, and explore.

“Events like Open Streets Windsor are vital to our community because they bring people together in meaningful ways. They create opportunities for residents and businesses to connect, for families to explore and experience what our community has to offer. That sense of connection and vibrancy is key to revitalizing our city” – Councilor Renaldo Agostino

Eight distinct hubs along the route will feature community partners hosting activities and displays to promote health, physical activity, arts, culture, heritage, and diversity. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to walk, cycle, rollerblade, and explore these vibrant hubs, each offering a unique experience.

New additions this year:

  • Vendor Market: Located in the River Rest Hub along Riverside Drive West. This area will highlight local businesses, and food vendors, creating new opportunities for community engagement and economic development.
  • New City Hall Square event space: Programming including live entertainment and activity zones for all ages.

Back by popular demand, participants can collect commemorative badges at each hub that feature artistic renditions of Windsor’s iconic landmarks. Supplies are limited, so make sure you do not miss your chance to collect them all!
