Pursue Your Passions

Having a voice while your young is something that can never be taken away from you.

Speak your mind and make your fears into dreams and your dreams into your reality. Many things may seem impossible but there is so much within arm’s reach that is overlooked every day. When you set your mind to something anything can be achievable, you just have to try.

Never in a million years would I believe someone if they told me I would be an author, journalist and a book reviewer at the age of 19. I encountered so many mistakes and challenges along the way but I never gave up and that’s what set me apart from so many others in the same shoes as me.

Finding your passion is one thing, but building upon that passion is what makes your voice heard. Pursing photography, writing, a sport or instrument, everything takes time and dedication.  From the smallest hike to the farthest jump, practice truly does make perfect.

I never knew what it meant to be passionate about something until I started writing. The words immediately flew from my mind and traveled down into my pencil as I scribbled away. It came quickly and I caught on to certain styles and terms all at once. I have worked very hard to be where I am today but that would have never come to be if it wasn’t for dedication, hard work and passion.

A motivational speaker, Jay Shetty, made a video about the story of Ed Sheeran and how he came to be the music sensation he is today. Nothing comes easy and for Ed, he quit school and slept on and off trains because he wanted to pursue his passion. Music.

“The next time you see someone that you think is successful, don’t focus on what they’re doing now. Focus on what they did to get there.”
