Show Your Sole in Custom-Designed Socks

In February of this year the Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch (CMHA-WECB) launched a three year awareness and fundraising campaign called the Sole Focus Project. The goal of the campaign is to raise $500,000 over three years, and to bring greater awareness to mental health and wellness in our community.

The award-winning campaign features the slogan “Take a Stand for Mental Health” and encourages supporters to “show their sole”, both figuratively and literally by sharing their own mental health challenges and posing with the (painted) soles of their shoes and sharing on social media using the hashtag #ShowYourSole.

The campaign design lends itself to so many creative opportunities, that a natural extension of the appeal was to offer Sole Focus Project socks. The socks, designed in CMHA turquoise and lime green, feature the campaign’s unique logo – shoe soles with a heart in the centre. The socks will serve as a fundraiser but also allow supporters another unique way to show their soles on social media.

“Good Luck Sock is proud to partner with the Canadian Mental Health Association to raise awareness on mental health. With the Sole Focus Project movement we take a stand together for mental health. Join the movement and show your sole with our unique socks, designed in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association and Good Luck Sock”, said Yuri Gerchikov, Good Luck Sock.

Socks are available in small and large sizes and can be purchased for $15.00 each on the Sole Focus Project website.  The socks are also available for purchase at From the Heart (1356 Ottawa St.) and The Suit Shop Co. (593 Erie St. E.).

“We are delighted with the success of the Sole Focus Project campaign. It has resonated with the community and allowed CMHA-WECB to create impact in providing mental health training and awareness. Having a partner like Good Luck Sock is another welcome addition to the campaign. And the socks make great stocking stuffer gifts for the holidays,” says Claudia den Boer, CEO, CMHA-WECB.
