Biz X was There – Soup’s On! Heart and Stroke Event Raises $11k!

On March 30, 2017 “The 31st Annual Great Soup Kitchen” for the Heart and Stroke took place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Clair College Centre for the Arts. Over $11,000 was raised and 625 people came out to enjoy soups from area restaurants.

This annual fundraiser is very important since 9 out 10 Canadians have been affected by Heart Disease or Stroke and all of the money raised will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation to help fund life-saving research and create more survivors.

The foundation has set aggressive goals to help reduce the death rate from heart disease and stroke by 25% as well as reduce the risk factors for heart disease and stroke 10% – by the year 2020.

The event was emceed by Joe McParland of Biz X magazine and CogecoTV. Many businesses and individuals pitched in to make the luncheon a success including . . .

A professional photographer for over 30 years, Rod Denis has shot everything from fashion models and commercial products to food and automobiles. Denis is a graduate of the photography program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario and has worked in major centres such as Toronto, Halifax and Detroit. Since 1991 he has operated Rodney L.
