St. Clair College Convocation 2020 Video

“There hasn’t been a graduating class in the College’s 53-year history that more richly deserves a personal and festive celebration than yours.”

With that statement, St. Clair College President Patti France congratulated the class of 2020 in a virtual celebration conferring diplomas and degrees to 3,056 graduates from the schools of Business, Health Sciences, Community Studies, Skilled Trades, Engineering Technologies and Media, Art and Design.

St. Clair’s video also includes a message from Colleges and Universities Minister Ross Romano, Associate Vice President Student Services and Registrar Michael Silvaggi and Alumni Association President Andrew Rowberry. It concludes with a scrolling list of the graduates’ names set against the familiar sound of Pomp and Circumstance.

“Your achievement in completing your education during the most dire health crisis in recent history, including a radical alteration of your curriculum format midway through your final semester, coupled with the social and economic upheaval associated with the pandemic… adds up to you being collectively the most remarkable graduating class in St. Clair’s half-century of existence,” France stated in her message to graduates.

St. Clair College’s spring convocation was called off amid the global pandemic that forced the cancellation of all large gatherings as public health officials around the world sought to contain the spread of COVID-19.
