On Wednesday, January 27th, seventeen (17) youth graduated from the Canadian Tooling & Machining Association’s 32-week Introductory Trades Training program through which they learned tool, die, mould and machining skills.

Trades Training Program was designed by the CTMA and its member companies to help reduce youth unemployment in Windsor and Essex County and to help close the skilled trades gap in the tool, die, mould and machining industry.

So far, more than 60 youth (aged 18-29) have graduated from the program and gained valuable workplace skills and experience through this 32-week program that begins with 6 weeks of intensive introductory training at the Valiant Training & Development Centre, followed by 26 weeks of on-the-job training at various machine, tool, die & mould companies in the Windsor-Essex region.
