WIFF SUBMISSION DEADLINE ANNOUNCED FOR ‘LOCAL’ 2016

The Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF) has announced WIFF Submission deadline for ‘Local’ 2016, a program that promotes and fosters local films and filmmakers.

Now in its seventh year, WIFF ‘Local’ 2016 celebrates local filmmaking talent by encouraging local short and feature film submissions for programming consideration. The submission deadline is Tuesday, September 6th, but early submission is recommended.

Local filmmakers who have premiered films at WIFF since 2010 include: Ken Amlin, Min Bae, Ryan Debergh, Sandra Feldman, Pat Jeflyn , Kim Kristy, Jayme LaForest, Francesco Loschiavo, Kyle Mosonyi , Kim Nelson, Tim Swaddling, Dan Slater, and Daniel Yaworsky.

Films are selected on the basis of quality and originality, and on their ability to contribute significantly to the overall success of WIFF 2016. Full details about WIFF ‘Local’ 2016 are available online

WIFF 2016 runs from Tuesday, November 1st to Sunday, November 6th, and is presented by the Windsor Family Credit Union (WFCU).

Through its exhibition, education, and community development programs, WIFF builds audiences for Canadian content and talent, provides training opportunities for emerging filmmakers, and promotes the creative economy of Windsor and Southwestern Ontario.
