City of Windsor COVID-19 Parking Promotion Ending

After two years of offering an hour of free parking to help small businesses (in and around municipally owned “Pay for Parking” areas) serve their socially distancing customers, the City of Windsor’s free covid-19 parking promotion is coming to an end.

In December of 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, City Council approved fifteen minutes of free parking at all “Pay for Parking” locations to encourage shopping and quick food pickups. Emerging from the pandemic in 2022, this promotion was increased to one hour.

Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. will be the last of the free parking offered within Zone 3800 for users of the Passport Parking Canada app.

Drivers can still enjoy free parking at City meters after 6 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and throughout the entire day on Sundays.

The Passport Parking Canada app is a convenient tool for managing parking needs in Windsor, offering user-friendly features:

Easy and fast payments
Reminder notifications: Receive alerts when your parking session is within 15 minutes of expiry.
Session extensions: Extend your parking session directly from your mobile phone.
Vehicle management: Manage multiple vehicles with the app.
Free download: The app is available for free download on mobile devices through standard app providers.

Deborah and the Biz X team are not only a group of people who work together, they are the spirit of Windsor's community, business essence and bringing social awareness. As a new member of this beautiful city, it was through Biz X magazine that I learned who is who and where is where. I attended their 25th Anniversary Gala in 2022 and what a fantastic evening.
