Windsor-Essex Able to Enter Stage 3
Thanks in part to your hard work ensuring physical distancing and mask-wearing measures at your establishments, the local trends have been positive and the Chief Medical Officer Health has permitted the region to join the rest of Ontario in Stage 3.
Stage 3 doesn’t mean that the pandemic is over or that the threat of COVID-19 and its devastating effects are gone. Public health advice still needs to be followed to ensure that our region remains in Stage 3 and that restrictions don’t need to be tightened moving forward.
Physical distancing, 10-person social circles and mask wearing are still in effect. Staying home when ill and frequent hand washing also remain important.
In Stage 3, public gathering limits are increased to a maximum of 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors, with physical distancing in place. Your place of business may have a different indoor limit, to ensure physical distancing of two metres between people is adhered to.
To note, indoor and outdoor events or gatherings cannot be combined to increase limits of people permitted.
Other restrictions in place include:
- No buffet-style service may be provided
- Restaurant seating must still have two metres between it and the next seating
- Restaurant establishments must record the name and contact details of every patron who sits indoor AND outdoor
- Singing performances are permissible, provided the singer is separated from every other person (including other performers) by two metres and by plexiglass or other impermeable barrier
Nightclubs remain closed. Tour services may reopen provided physical distancing of two metres can be accommodated.
The full list of restrictions under Stage 3 can be found online.
