Worldwide Windsor Virtual Event – Exploring worldwide cultures and their impact within the Windsor- Essex community!
Presented by Event Management Students at St. Clair College for the first time ever! With 300 participants and four guest speakers.
The speaker list includes Veronique Mandal the Coordinator & Professor of Journalism and Media Convergence at St. Clair College. Mandal will be speaking on Diverse Cultures at Home and Abroad. Organizers will also have guest speaker Deborah Laselva who is The Coordinator for Tourism-Travel at St. Clair College and Alex Wu who is the Manager International Recruitment and Project Development at St. Clair College.
All proceeds will be donated to the following Registered Charitable Organization: The Windsor Essex Child/Youth Advocacy Center (WECYAC).
WECYAC’s purpose is to “provide a child-centred, safe location for children/youth to disclose their abuse to a specially trained team of professionals. Prior to WECYAC, children/youth subjected to abuse were interviewed in several locations around the community, by multiple different professionals. WECYAC minimizes the number of times children/youth must tell their story, reducing the trauma of disclosure”. WECYAC believes that kids should only have to tell their story once!
Due to COVID-19 it is possible that there may be children locked-down with their abusers. This means that now, more than ever, we must ensure that organizations such as WECYAC have the funds and support required from us as a community!
Event takes place April, 24, 2021 from 10 a.m. 2 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased online. Tickets are priced at $11.00 per ticket. With a slide price option so that those who can offer a larger donation may do so.
