WSO Wraps 2021/2022 Season with a Powerful Lineup

The WSO ends the 2021/2022 season with a force! Music from one of the greatest composers of classical music and a musical testament to friendships written over 120 years ago! WSO also showcases the Youth Orchestra and Community Orchestra in two enchanting concerts.

Maestro Robert Franz, WSO Music Director says, “The season has flown by, and to celebrate, music of the great film composer, John Williams, will be on the docket with performances at UNI-FAB in Leamington and two performances at the Capitol Theatre. Immerse yourself in the music of Williams’ film scores, like Superman, E.T. and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Romantic tone-poems by Elgar and Strauss bring the season to a resounding close with musical storytelling that will lift your spirits. We’re looking forward to the uniqueness of these last couple of concerts!”

Bill & Rochelle Tepperman Masterworks: Elgar’s Enigma Variations

May 7 & 8, 2022 at The Capitol Theatre, Windsor

Edward Elgar’s inspiration led to a musical essay about friendship. He adapted a tune to create musical portraits of fourteen friends. The result: a musical testament to friendship that still captivates audiences more than a century later. For Richard Strauss, a play about the legend of Don Juan was the inspirational source for this orchestral showpiece. This work is considered one of the most virtuosic pieces of music to be played by the violins, and you will hear why in the first three seconds of the piece.
