WindsorEssex Community Foundation Launches Annual Vital Signs Survey

For the past five years, the WindsorEssex Community Foundation’s Vital Signs survey has engaged Windsor/Essex residents in a deeper exploration of issues and trends that affect and influence community vitality. The annual survey delves into their thoughts on the quality of life in Windsor/ Essex focusing on 11 key areas: Work; Health, Wellness & Activity; Belonging & Leadership; Safety; Housing; Arts & Culture; Learning; Environment; Getting Started; Getting Around; and, Food Security.

On Tuesday, April 24, the WECF, along with community members and stakeholders, gathered at the Windsor Star News Café to launch the 2018 Vital Signs® survey.

“The WECF is thrilled to have the support of numerous organizations across Windsor/Essex who are just as passionate about our community as we are! They assist us by encouraging their networks to complete the survey in order to help us gain an even more all-encompassing reflection of how Windsor/Essex fairs as compared to national and regional statistics. These partnerships make the Vital Signs® Program an authentic example of community collaboration,” stated Lisa Kolody, WECF Executive Director.

This year marks the fifth time the Vital Signs survey has been offered in the Windsor/Essex community. It is available online through the WECF’s website and, to promote accessibility of the survey, the WECF will also provide paper copies to those without computer access (contact 519-255-6572). Respondents who complete the survey in full will have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win $100. Results from the Vital Signs survey are incorporated into the Vital Signs report to be released on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

The WindsorEssex Community Foundation, originally founded in 1983 as Heritage Windsor, is a perpetual community trust for philanthropic purposes. It exists to manage donors’ legacy funds and make grants to support local community programs. Through grant making activities, the WECF is able to establish partnerships to assist a broad range of community organizations.
