39th Annual Art Exhibition – Local Artists Association Celebrating Show with a Juried Canada 150th Theme
The Association of Representational Artist (ARA) of Windsor-Essex are presenting their 39th Annual Art Show & Sale starting Friday October 20th till Sunday November 12th, 2017. The exhibition will be located at Windsor Crossing Premium Outlet Mall , Unit 110 , 1555 Talbot Rd. LaSalle. The public is invited to review the artworks and help support the regions local artists.
There will be 38 artists displaying over 190 local and original artworks. The Public is welcome to view and purchase original compositions in water-colour, acrylic, oil, pastel and sculpture and other mediums. The tradition that continues.
Original art works by the regions historic local association of representational artists. The Opening Reception is Friday October 20th starting at 7 pm till 9 pm, Opening day is Friday Oct.20th at 10am.
The public is welcome to attend the reception with the artists and ask them about their compositions.
Gallery hours of operation will be: Thurs. 10 am – 9 pm, Fri. 10 am – 9 pm, Sat. 10 am – 6 pm, Sun 12 noon – 5 pm
Closed: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. Now the juried show is open to all artists.
This year’s juried open competition show will focus – helping celebrate Canada’s 150th sesquicentennial anniversary. The theme follows the suggestion of “YOUR CANADA”, allowing the participating artists to express their vision of what Canada means to them in a representational rendering with heritage art. This year we have an excellent jury consisting of accomplished artists, celebrates and public figures. Our 5 prominent judges will jury our show “YOUR CANADA” and select 1st, 2nd and 3rd place noted winners. The awards presentation will be announced during the opening reception Friday Oct.20th, 7 – 9pm
We are please to announce the members of the jury
- Albin Kristy, accomplished architectural illustrator & artist
- Leslie McCurdy, a prominent international performing artist, actor and playwright.
- Julia Conlin, an accomplished artist and educator, based in Walkerville, practicing in egg tempera & water colour.
- David Finch, famous comic book illustrator of Batman & Wonder Woman fame.
- Lisa Williams, host of the highest rated radio show, the Morning Drive on AM 800
- And be it fitting, since this is a Canada 150th theme, we have our longest serving parliamentarian
- Brian Masse MP to represent the regions citizens and the House of Commons.
