WINDSORITE ANGUS MACINNES WHO LED ATTACK ON DEATH STAR FLIES HOME
Angus MacInnes makes first Canadian Convention Appearance at Windsor ComiCon.
It is not everyday that a Windsorite leads an attack on the Death Star but for this Gold Leader, a reality. Windsor ComiCon welcomes local Canadian actor and legendary Gold Leader Angus MacInnes. This will be MacInnes’ first Canadian convention appearance.
Born in Windsor, Ontario, MacInnes first studied acting in Canada before moving to the United Kingdom to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art landing minor roles for television and film. Soon after, he landed his most recognizable role as Jon “Dutch” Vander, Gold Leader who leads the charge during the assault on the Death Star in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. He reprised his role in the latest Star Wars film, Rogue One using archived footage and newly recorded audio.
His other famous movie roles include the washed-up hockey legend Jean “Rosey” La Rose from Strange Brew and as the corrupt cop Fergie in Witness as well as minor roles in Altantic City, Superman II, Hellboy and Captain Phillips. Also a notable television actor, MacInnes portrayed Tostig in Vikings, Lieutenant Commander Walter B. Shannon in Space Island One and Sonny Munro in BBC Scotland series, River City.
“This is a true homecoming for Angus that will highlight our event,” says ComiCon General Manager, Colin Douglas. “As the Star Wars Universe continues to grow with additional movies, this is truly a guest for fans both old and new.”
Angus MacInnes is presented by MoonJump Video Production Services.
