HOT LOCAL ARTIST DESJARDINS FIRST TO SHOWCASE TALENT
Windsor ComiCon is pleased to welcome its first comic guest through hot local artist Johnny Desjardins (Johnny D).
Desjardins first began honing his drawing technique throughout high school and was able to further his skills when he met fellow local all-star artist David Finch. From there, he assisted Finch on backgrounds for Marvel Comics’ Ultimatum miniseries. Later, he started working exclusively for Dynamite Entertainment with his first book Red Sonja #50 and drew several covers for Robocop, Kato and The Green Hornet: Blood Ties. His other work can be seen in DC Comics’ Wonder Woman. Now, his work can be seen in the release of Dynamite’s latest comic The Sovereigns. This book will star reimagined characters like Magnus Robot Fighter, Doctor Spektor, Turok and more that began with Gold Key Comics, which no longer exists.

“Windsor and Essex County has become a hotbed for the comic book industry,” says ComiCon General Manager, Colin Douglas. “We are excited to have Johnny D on board with us, as not only a local talent, but as one of the artists re-imaging Dynamite’s new universe.”
“Windsor will always be where it started for me,” says Desjardins. “Being able to join Windsor ComiCon to promote the comic book industry while displaying my artwork is a real honour for me.”
Johnny Desjardins is presented by Ryder Roman Danjer Renaud.
