By Erika Muscat

The 4th annual Celebrity Men Fashion Event benefitting The Kidney Foundation of Canada was held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 and was a smashing hit with 14 new smiling faces hitting the runway.

The evening started off with hors d’oeuvres by chefs from Bacchus Ristorante pleasing the palettes with divine creations. Attendees were able to mix and mingle with the models and bid on some fantastic auction prizes.

The fashion show took place against the breathtaking backdrop of Water’s Edge Event Centre, 2879 Riverside Drive East, Windsor.

The 14 men donned fashions from Caché Boutique, Collins Clothiers, The Running Factory and The Suit Shop Co Ltd.

This year models walking the runaway were:

  • Jay Marchillo, Mix 96.7
  • Gary Archibald, Meterologist CTV News Windsor
  • Rob Gyori, Impact Staffing
  • Frank Abbruzzese, AlphaKOR
  • Brent Vicary, RN Renal Department Windsor Regional Hospital
  • Asaph Maurer, Artist
  • Mike Graber, RN Renal Department Windsor Regional Hospital
  • Dale Harvie, Constable, Windsor Police Service
  • Tom O’Brien, Coopers Hawk Vineyards
  • Peter Savoni, Professor, Odette School of Business
  • Mark Dudfield, Better Blinds and Drapery
  • Eric Skene, Body by Synergy
  • Dan Patterson, WKND Hospitality Group
  • Scott Martindale, Martindale Windows

Of course the night wouldn’t have been complete without the comedic antics of emcee Michelle Mainwaring and co-emcee Phat Matt of the Mix 96.7. Joe McParland of Biz X also helped out with raffle items and information for the guests.

The Celebrity Men Fashion Event is definitely a one-of-a-kind event in Windsor Essex, but most importantly, it’s all for a good cause with a goal to raise $25,000!

A diagnosis of kidney failure is life-altering for many. The Kidney Foundation of Canada supports over 300 local patients who are on dialysis, as well as their caregivers and the many more being followed by kidney specialists for a variety of kidney-related issues. There is no cure for kidney disease, so the Foundation continues to fund important research, having contributed over $123 million to dozens of research projects to date. The Celebrity Men Fashion Event is sponsored and supported by: Bacchus Ristorante, Biz X magazine, Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards Winery, Elev8 Productions, Janssen, Men in Kilts, Milestone Studios, Mix 96.7 FM, Presidential Productions, Rob & Deb Armitage of Re/Max Preferred Realty, Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. and Water’s Edge Event Centre.
