Renovations at Cineplex Odeon Devonshire Mall Cinemas will Enhance Movie Watching Experience for Windsor Community

Cineplex will be making two exciting improvements at the Cineplex Odeon Devonshire Mall Cinemas. All twelve of the theatre’s auditoriums will be upgraded from traditional cinema seats to luxurious, reclining seats in the upcoming months. In addition, the theatre will soon have its first UltraAVX auditorium, which is one of Cineplex’s most popular movie experiences. Construction on this project has already begun and is expected to be completed by mid-2017.

“We are always looking for new and innovative ways to enhance the movie-going experience for our guests and these renovations are a perfect example,” said Pat Marshall, Vice President, Communications and Investor Relations, Cineplex. “Our guests absolutely love our new reclining seats and our UltraAVX auditoriums are always among the first to sell out, so we’re confident that the Windsor community will love these enhanced entertainment experiences.”

Windsor movie-goers will soon be able to sit back, relax, and put their feet up with new recliner seating. The high-back, extra-wide seats recline and its footrest raises at the touch of a button for maximum comfort while enjoying a film. The concept has been rolled-out at select Cineplex theatres nationwide and has proved to be very popular with Canadian movie-goers.

The addition of an UltraAVX auditorium means Windsorites will also have the chance to experience one of Canada’s most powerful and immersive movie-going experiences featuring a massive wall-to-wall screen, ultra high-definition digital projection from Christie True 4K projectors and powerful Dolby Atmos surround sound. The auditorium will also include one row of immersive D-BOX motion seats, which move in concert with the action on the big screen so movie-goers feel like they are part of the action. Cineplex Odeon Devonshire Mall Cinemas will remain open to the public during the renovations. While all of the theatre’s twelve auditoriums will transition to reclining seats over the coming months, Cineplex will undertake the installation and reopen the auditoriums in a phased approach.
