The Circle of Seven Presents Five Different Windsor-Essex Organizations with $50,000
The donation came came from the proceeds of their annual signature fundraising event, Denim & Diamonds Gala held November 5, 2016 at the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society.
The Circle of Seven is a group of diverse and dynamic individuals who work as a team to better the community in which they grew up in, work and live, while enjoying the friendships and passions they share.
With old-school work ethics and respect for one another, they each bring something magical to the table. They are seven separate personalities, but they have one common interest – to serve our community of Windsor-Essex.
The current board of the Circle of Seven consists of: Tony Haddad, President; Rob Agnew, Vice President; Gordon Boggs, Treasurer; Don Wiley, Secretary; Ed Agnew, Past President; Tom Williams, Director; Nick Thomas, Director.
As a registered non-profit, President Haddad explains that the Circle of Seven “has been in existence for over 20 years and has raised over $3 million in direct and indirect contributions and leverage of funds to the various organizations that we supported over that time, all within the community of Windsor-Essex.” And, according to Haddad, “currently we have two different commitments for $25,000 each over five years: the first, to the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry; and the second, to the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society.”
Monday’s presentation was hosted by the Canadian Mental Health Association, one of the five organizations to receive money. Haddad presented Kim Willis of CMHA with their contribution.
The other groups and their respective representatives presented money by Haddad were:
- Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare – Janice Kaffer
- House of Sophrosyne – Biljana Angelovski
- University of Windsor Shulich School of Medicine – Jane Boyd
- Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society – Mike Clark
